What is NAWIC?
The National Association of Women in Construction is an organization exclusively for those women involved in any aspect of the construction industry.
Founded in Fort Worth, Texas, in 1955, NAWIC is an international association serving approximately 5,500 members in nearly 200 chapters across the United States. NAWIC is also affiliated with Canadian Women in Construction, NAWIC-Australia, NAWIC-New Zealand, NAWIC-United Kingdom and SAWIC - South African Women in Construction. The Association’s membershp is comprised of business owners, engineers, architects, tradeswomen and those in a variety of other construction-related careers.

Why Should I Join NAWIC?
Nawic is a wonderful opportunity for Networking with others in the construction industry. Each Chapter has members with a wealth of knowledge of all facets of our industry. Numerous Leadership opportunities are available through participation in Nawic. New members are always welcome and encouraged to get involved in Nawic activities and programs. New members bring fresh perspectives and creative ideas to the table, which can make a Chapter stronger. Depending on your interest, there are numerous ways to get involved. For example, if you enjoy working with young people, consider helping coordinate a Block-Kids contest. Getting involved in Association work allows you to Develop and Enhance Personal and Professional Skills.
Nawic is also associated with the National Education Foundation which provides several Certification Programs. These are intense educational opportunities for Advancement in your career.
